INTERACTIVE DESK

Interactive Desk is a learning platform for students on which they can interact with the given information on the screen. This application aims to teach students by involving them in an event in which they are required to solve the problem by using the information provided. In order to to solve the problem, they are required to understand the topics and use the information, not merely memorize. This application encourages active participation in class.

BECOME AN AUTHENTIC ASTRONOMER FROM THE MEDIEVAL ERA.

In the application installed to Doğa Schools, a Medieval Era astronomer’s desk has been interpreted. An old looking constellation map is placed on the middle of the table. This constellation map is updated constantly to show the placement of the stars on the sky above the museum’s roof.

Additionally, as students move their hands through the map, constellations first unite as lines then turn into illustrations of what they are named after, such as: Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Equipments astronomers used in that era, such as astrolabe, sextant and compass are placed near the constellation map and studentsare able to learn about what they are by moving their hands above those equipments. Multiple students can work on the interactive desk simultaneously.
